Amazing Grace (My Chains are Gone)

Posted by in Faith, Musica

I have a habit of waking up in the middle of the night with music in my head and typically it means I have a hard time falling back asleep. About a year and a half ago I stopped listening to secular music all day or much at all really as I could no long ignore that what I was listening to was not uplifting. Imagine the difference of waking up with “My chains are gone, I’ve been set free my God, my Savior has ransomed me and like a…read more

Psalm 119 145 With my whole heart I cry; answer me, O LORD! I will keep your statutes. 146 I call to you; save me, that I may observe your testimonies. 147 I rise before dawn and cry for help; I hope in your words. 148 My eyes are awake before the watches of the night, that I may meditate on your promise. 149 Hear my voice according to your steadfast love; O LORD, according to your justice give me life. Isn’t this a great view? — It’s called home….read more

Victory

Posted by in Faith

1 Corinthians 15 54 When the perishable puts on the imperishable, and the mortal puts on immortality, then shall come to pass the saying that is written: “Death is swallowed up in victory.” 55 “O death, where is your victory? O death, where is your sting?” 56 The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. 57 But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. I heard an old, old story, How a Savior came from glory, How…read more

Turf and Surf

Posted by in Running, Surf

Good early start on the run today was out before 8 so it wasn’t too hot yet. Took The Cooper let him run in any of the muck or water we passed along the way to help him keep cool and get some water periodically. Strong focus today on keeping the heart rate down so almost a shuffle pace to work on duration and distance. We were able to cover about 7.5 miles with a little bit of walking mostly because I worry about him any distance over 6 miles….read more

Run – July 18

Posted by in Uncategorized

I gotta stop running at lunch until October. I have the legs but the heat and humidity are killing me. A good average HRM pace for me is about 170-174 but in the middle of the day it starts hitting 190 and I end up having to walk it back down. We are always running For the thrill of it, thrill of it Always pushing up the hill Searching for the thrill of it. On and on and on We are calling out and out again Never looking down I’m…read more

Run – July 16

In somewhat of a funk today have felt tired all day. Very hot lunch run with The Cooper who wasn’t really into it either – he kept giving me that look – anyone who runs with a dog regularly knows that look that are we home yet look. Tried to add a half mile by taking a different route and instead cut it short. I remember a time when if I had run 2.75 miles I wouldn’t have logged it Some big changes coming soon so am a bit distracted…read more
